I will now try to disable bettersnaptool and dropbox in System prefs, and restart my Mac. Though I haven't managed to reproduce that yet. In fact, I've recently had panning and zooming also totally fail, requiring Fusion to restart to resolve it. If safe mode works, then some windows services are causing the issue.
